MechaFightClub creators, Irreverent Labs raised 40 million dollars in seed capital for its first collection called MechaFightClub.
There are truly no limits in the NFT world. Anything could go viral from a collection of apes, now to a collection of chickens.
According to SEC filings on May 8, the company was able to raise millions from its game through 14 investors, some of which preferred equity.
“To me, artificially intelligent entertainment being created is super interesting,” Irreverent Labs Founder, Rahul Sood said. “I think this is where gaming is going. And no one else has done this yet. We’re going to be the first to do it.”
What is the MechaFightClub?
It is a collection of robotic chickens who compete against each other in combat. Although cock fighting is known to be violent, the creators of this game say it would be non-violent and even hilarious.
The chickens, roosters and hens in the collection are called Mechabots. The Mechabots can learn on their own and respond to training, much like a normal fighter.
The Seattle-based gaming company revealed that each Mechabot will have a unique name. It’s not just their names that would be unique: their genes and backgrounds will also be very different.
Would Mechabots generate income for their owners?
Yes, much like in a normal fighting competition, Mechabots can win games and will be rewarded if they do so. Although there is no word on the kind of reward that would be given, Irreverent Labs says they can be spent in or out of the game.
When is the MechaFightClub collection going to be released?
For now, there are no clear pointers as to when the collection would be publicly available. The game is based on the Solana network and would likely drop on Magic Eden before it gets to OpenSea.
Mechabots would not be released as fully-grown chickens during mint. Instead, they will be minted as EGGs, which can be nurtured till they hatch into grown Mechabots.
According to the collection’s official roadmap, 6969 EGGs will be released in the Genesis collection. These eggs would take some weeks to hatch. When they do, they will also come with a “provenance card,” a kind of pass to compete in the MFC arena.
Will the Club only involve fighting?
Though fighting is the main point of the fight club, holders can do other things with their chickens too. For example, they can breed their chickens with each other. However, breeding would be after the club’s premier event called the Cocktagon.
To breed, one must have a hen or access to one, which is only 40% of the collection (the Labs said they are more intelligent too).
More details about the rather peculiar collection would be revealed soon but for now, it’s time to see how this chicken combat NFT collection would play out.
